Harvest Date: September 20, 2016

The 2016 growing season captivated us. There was enough winter rain to replenish the vineyard following years of drought and enough sunshine to ensure the development of the fruit’s rich and exultant flavors. We harvested pristine grapes on September 20th, excited about the beauty of our inaugural vintage.

Wine Produced: 220 cases

Alcohol: 14.8%

Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2016 Heimark Cabernet Sauvignon is redolent of wild herbs, plums, cloves and star anise. Rich flavors of black cherries, chocolate and thyme are supported by the wine’s classical structure and fine grained tannins, resulting in a dense, inviting wine with great energy and lift. The lengthy finish adds seductive notes of cocoa powder, blackberry and slate.

The wine is delicious now with decanting and is beautifully proportioned to reward aging for ten to twenty years.
